Meet  Warren Michaels

 

Born in 1947 Warren Edward Barootjian in Bronx New York in the Tremont Section near Cortland Park Warren attended Piano lessons at the early age of  5 yrs old studying classical music for 6  years until he was 11

 

It wasnt until  his teens that Warren Started Writing  songs and poetry. Soon after his interests broadened to Sketching and some sculpting. Warren's  Uncle was a somewhat celebrated Sculptor in the 60's as the designer of the Medallions that  the President awarded the Men that first landed on the Moon. His name was Thomas Lo Medico, the brother of his Grandmother. Warren came from an artistic background  and had ancestry from both Armenian and Sicilian Grandparents. After this Warren Joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and Studied electronics as a Sonar Technician on a Guided Missle Destroyer  from 64-68.  It ws on board  this ship that Warren Studied Guitar and began composing once again.

 

Warren Has been writing in one form or another  for many years and has written at least 100 songs but never has he felt such an inspiration at the National Purple Heart of Honor in New Windsor New York when Newburgh Free Academy was performing a song he wrote for Lady Liberty he was asked by a Medal recipient and Liason to the Hall if he  could write a song for them. Warren claims  he was so excited to be asked that he went home  and wrote the song and recorded it in 10 hours

 

As time goes on you will hear it being recorded by many artists which include David Letterman's Late Show Gospel Choir and Musicians from  around the world that are credited on scores of Gold and Platinum Albums. Unfortunately these projects must stay in confidence untill the Song is re-released as an Epic Single and distributed around the Nation, Money from this single will be Donated in full to help with Groups  such as the Gold Star Mothers, The Purple hearts and Honors and Memories

 

This Song is also performed by Monica Harvey as Chaplain of Honors and Memories better  known by the Vets as Lil Sis. Monica travels with the Vietnam Tribute wall to greet those Vets that  have never been  welcomed back Properly and sings  this song and they can feel the warmth from their Lil Sis
